The production of HRC for 1QFY2001 was 4.73 lakh tonne, operating at a capacity utilisation of 95%. The production of HRC is 32% more than 3.58 lakh tonne produced in Q1 of the previous year. EStL achieved a capacity utilisation of 106% in Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) with a production of 4.71 lakh tonne for 1QFY2001, an increase of 21%, over 3.88 lakh tonne MT produced in Q1 of the previous year. The increase in production is achieved through technological innovations, process re-engineering and better production planning.
As compared to last year, there has been an increase in the cost of inputs. However, these costs were absorbed by improved consumption norms, efficient energy management and optimum feed mix planning.
