As part of its backward
integration plan, Essar Steel has built an 8.0 MTPA
iron ore pelletisation plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra
Pradesh, India with technology supplied by Lurgi
GmbH of Germany. Even after meeting the pellet requirements
of Essar's hot briquetted iron plant, the plant's
production is marketed domestically and internationally.
The plant has an assured supply of high quality
iron ore from our 8 MTPA iron ore beneficiation
plant at Bailadilla, Chattisgarh, India, home to
some of the richest iron ore deposits in the world.
The iron ore slurry is pumped through a 267 km.
pipeline (the second longest in the world), to
the pellet plant at Visakhapatnam.
