|Having a firm conviction in continuous evolution, Essar Steel is unequivocally committed to building a learning organisation. It strongly advocates learning at all levels within the organisation and takes it to be a continuous process. At Essar Steel, we not only equip you with skills for fulfilling your existing role, we also invest in your future by imparting a higher order skill-set and preparing you for greater participation in meeting organisational goals in enhanced roles at higher positions.
The focus areas of our training programs are behavioural, technical, functional, and leadership and managerial. The company provides employees with on-the-job and action learning assignments to help hone their inherent as well as acquired capabilities. On-the-job learning may be in the form of executing, experiencing, observing, receiving feedback, coaching and mentoring.
Every employee at Essar Steel undergoes a performance management process wherein key performance areas, identified at the start of the year, become the parameters for reviewing employee performance. At the outset, the employee's learning needs are identified and accordingly an individual learning plan is chalked out for that employee and integrated with the company's overall training calendar. Mid-year review and appraisal provides the employee feedback and advice on how to build upon his existing strengths, and improve himself in identified areas. High-performance and high-potential employees are identified for a fast-track programme, and rewarded with top-of-the-market compensation, retention bonuses and specialised training.
To cultivate the leadership acumen of employees across levels, Essar Steel has invested in comprehensive cadre building programmes such as the Business Leadership Program, the Global Leadership Program and the Graduate Executive Program.
