is a 4,000-people-strong, global engineering,
procurement and construction (EPC) company headquartered
in Dubai, with offices in India, Beijing and Prague.
It provides complete construction solutions under
a single umbrella. Some of the large projects
executed by Essar Projects include a 5.5 MTPA
sponge iron plant, a 4.6 MTPA steel mill and a
1,000 MW power plant at Hazira; an 8 MTPA pelletisation
plant in Visakhapatnam, a 0.4 MTPA cold rolling
mill in Indonesia and a 10.5 MTPA oil refinery
at Vadinar, Gujarat.

- Essar Constructions
(India) has over four decades of experience
in executing projects involving industrial plants,
civil & irrigation projects, laying of pipelines
and highways and expressways. The ISO 9001 certified
Pipeline division is a specialist in onshore,
offshore and cross country pipelines, from construction
to commissioning. It is one of the pioneers
in laying offshore gas, oil and deep water pipelines.
It also has the capability to execute entire
water systems, from intake well to distribution.
- Essar Offshore Subsea:
Marine construction is one of our special
strengths. The business provides Engineering,
Procurement, Construction & Installation
(EPCI) services in this sector in domestic as
well as overseas markets in addition to offshore
platform maintenance services. In the high-growth
oil & gas sector, it provides EPC services
for offshore logistics support and marine construction
projects.
- Global Supplies: The Global Supplies
team specialises in procurement in the power,
steel and hydrocarbon sectors. Having established
offices in the Middle East, China and India, the
division has developed excellent relationships
with leading equipment vendors across the globe.
The centralised procurement also enables timely
completion of projects and economies in purchase.
- Heavy Engineering Services undertakes
fabrication of critical equipment. It is equipped
with some of the finest machineries required for
manufacture of heavy equipment for steel, power
and petrochemical industries. The waterfront location
of this unit enables easy movement of large equipment
by sea.
- Project Management Consultancy: An
independent team of Project Management Consultants
ensure compliance to processes in project execution.
The team is also pitching for third-party projects.
Detailed Engineering:
The Projects business also leverages on the capabilities
of Engineering Centres that specialise in detailed
engineering and design. The centres located in
Chennai, Kolkata, Hazira and Mumbai, have specialised
technical staff of over 1,000 people focused on
the metals, power and hydrocarbon sectors. It
has state-of-the-art technology and software capabilities,
as well as strategic tie-ups with various engineering
partners and technology suppliers.
Essar Projects owns a vast bank of sophisticated
construction equipment including niche technology
equipment like the
250 T Horizontal Directional Drilling Rig and
Scanlay sub-sea pipe laying barge capable of handling
pipes of 38“ diameter. It is also Asia’s
largest owner of cranes in numbers and capacity.
